When VAT was temporarily reduced to 15%, the Chancellor added 2% duty to fuel to offset the reduction in tax collected from motorists. Now that VAT has been increased to 17.5% again this hidden tax has not been removed - hence recent rises in your fuel costs. Sign the petition at the link below to have this stealth tax removed!

I try not to get all political ... as its a bit boring and an unwritten rule that we dont let politics get in the way of a good gaming forum... but I think stealth taxes will be one of the major legacies of this Govt. ... and that was prior to the recession... we should be looking out for retrospective stealth taxes .

You are quite right that politics have no place in gaming fun. However, this effects probably most of us, well those that drive and whatever your politics, an unfair tax is an unfair tax.
