Thought I should start a topic with references to useful browser plugins/addons. There are so many out there it's better to recommend the best.

As I use Firefox my contributions will mostly be FF plugins/addons.

first the ones I really like:

Fireshot: a screencapture plugin which has many features, like immediate editing of the shot, e-mail the shot etc. Also this plugin can be integrated in Internet Explorer

Pdfit: create an instant pdf or jpeg file containing your screen content, choice between only visible part of the screen or the total page

Flashgot: a real cool download manager with many features

Adbloc Plus: blocks nasty popups

Gmail Manager: see how many new Gmails you have in your status bar

For IE, IEpro is a good addon IEpro Link

its called IEpro7, but works with 8
Its being updated soon, but they cant say when as they now work with Intell :/

And Pimpfish
if you want to download lots of pics.

For FF, try FEBE to back up your addons.

Also FasterFox and FireGestures

Hi Rich

Both IEpro and FireGestures let you use FF/IE by just holding down the right mouse button and flicking the mouse left or right (left page back, right page forward)

they can do so much more, but to much to list :)

Fasterfox speeds up firefox's network connection, page loading, page drawing, and downloading.
i would recommend setting it to optimised in the presets.

FEBE (as mentioned) and Mozbackup.

FEBE used for firefox users. It has been a life saver for me in the last 2 months.I have had two unrecoverable errors loading my O/S and have had to format twice.FEBE has saved my entire firefox profile and restores everything from addons, bookmarks and all my preferences.I would recommend making a profile backup at least once a week, more if you constantly make a lot of alterations to your settings. You can even choose how many backups it saves, at a location of your choice.

MozBackup the same.Works with Firefox although i do not use it for saving my profile there,i use it for saving my Thunderbird email client profile. All my mail and settings as well as addons are all restored very easily using this great little tool.

You can be up and running in minutes.
